In a world where so many brands are teaming up to create merchandise capsules, an unlikely duo has formed. Set to launch later this month right on time for the holiday shipping rush, Vans and the U.S. Postal Service have announced a collaborative collection that will include new versions of a few of the California-based skatewear brand’s iconic styles.
The companies recently announced that the project will include special apparel and footwear. Vans’ Sk8-Hi MTE-1, Sk8-Hi Reissue, Authentic and Old Skool styles will get a refresh by incorporating the USPS’ signature dark blue color, known as Blue Fog. In addition, each silhouette will also draw specific inspiration from the USPS: The Sk8-Hi MTE-1 will feature a Sherpa fleece-lined collar, reflective tongue badge and vulcanized all-terrain outsole; and the Old Skool will include a white-based color scheme with a gray stripe on the sides.
According to the press release, the Sk8-Hi piece of the collection draws inspiration from the Priority Mail box, and the USPS eagle logo will be applied on the back part of each silhouette. In addition to footwear, the collection will also feature matching apparel including a co-branded pullover hoodie, pocket T-shirt and beanie.
The USPS x Vans collection is scheduled to launch on Nov. 29 in limited quantities on vans.com and footlocker.com, along with a few select Vans retailers and Foot Locker locations. The Sk8-Hi Reissue will release exclusively at Foot Locker on Jan. 29, 2022. Pricing for the sneakers will range from $65 to $115 while the apparel is set to retail between $28 and $75.
